Job summary

Qualifications

• CPA certification is required.
• Experience in manufacturing with multi-entity or acquisitive environment.
• Hands-on leader able to operate strategically and in detail.
• Strong knowledge of inventory, standard costing, and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the cost accounting function across multiple entities.
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and COGS.
• Build and refine cost models to support pricing, forecasting, and operational decisions.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and FP&A to drive cost efficiencies and margin improvement.
• Support acquisition integration, aligning cost structures across entities.
• Oversee month-end close related to inventory and cost accounting, ensuring accuracy.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Support audits and work with external auditors.
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting team.

This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role within a fast growing, acquisitive business and have a direct impact on how the function is built and scaled. This is an on site role based in Los Angeles. This is a high impact leadership position within a business that is actively acquiring and integrating companies. The Director will own cost accounting across a complex, multi entity environment and play a key role in building scalable processes, improving visibility into margins, and supporting post acquisition integration.

What you will do

• Own and lead the cost accounting function across multiple entities
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold
• Build and refine cost models to support pricing, forecasting, and operational decision making
• Partner closely with operations, supply chain, and FP&A to drive cost efficiencies and margin improvement
• Support acquisition integration, including aligning cost structures and ensuring consistency across entities
• Oversee month end close related to inventory and cost accounting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance
• Support audits and work closely with external auditors
• Build and develop a high performing accounting team

What we are looking for

• Strong cost accounting experience within manufacturing or a product based environment
• Experience operating in a multi entity or acquisitive environment
• Hands on leader who can operate both strategically and in the details
• Strong understanding of inventory, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Experience partnering cross functionally with operations and supply chain
• CPA required, Big 4 background highly preferred
