Job summary

Flowserve, a global leader in pumps, valves, and seals, is seeking a Cost Accountant, SOX Controls, to protect financial reporting integrity in a manufacturing setting. You will partner with Finance, Operations, Shared Services, and Internal Audit to strengthen SAP‑supported controls and improve close and reporting processes.

This role blends hands-on accounting with the opportunity to influence internal controls, process improvements, and audit readiness across Flowserve’s global operations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1+ years of cost accounting, revenue accounting, general accounting, audit, or internal controls in manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, internal controls, audit practices, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with inventory accounting, revenue recognition principles, and high‑volume financial transactions involving products, customers, and invoices.
• Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical judgment, and ability to communicate financial and control‑related information clearly.
• Strong organizational and project‑management skills, ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate across teams.
• Demonstrated ethical judgment and commitment to financial accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely financial records per U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Coordinate audits with internal and external parties to meet deadlines.
• Execute SOX testing and reporting for SAP general controls and related processes.
• Prepare audit workpapers and document test procedures and results.
• Coordinate with Internal Audit and Shared Services to support walkthroughs and analytics.
• Advise project teams on SAP S/4HANA controls, governance, risk, and compliance.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Support monthly and quarterly close activities, GL loads, and site analytics.
• Review revenue, inventory, bookings, reserves, accruals for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Maintain key-control procedures and audit-ready documentation.
• Drive continuous-improvement of decentralized processes and reporting accuracy
