CPS, Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant to analyze and report manufacturing costs, maintain inventory records, and support the month-end close process. This role ensures accurate costing and regulatory compliance across the business.

The Cost Accountant will collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and Finance to control costs, value inventory, and provide actionable profitability insights. Strong analytical skills and ERP proficiency are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation and reconciliations.
• Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, labor, overhead, and finished goods.
• Analyze variances and communicate key drivers to management.
• Prepare monthly cost and variance reports with explanations for fluctuations.
• Partner with Operations and Production to understand costs and variances.
• Monitor inventory balances and ensure GAAP-compliant valuation.
• Reconcile inventory subledgers to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with BOMs, routings, labor rates, and overhead rates.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs and inventory.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for audits.
• Contribute to cost accounting policies and internal controls.
• Participate in ERP implementations and process improvements.
• Provide financial analysis and ad hoc reporting to leadership.
