CPS Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting activities, inventory and cost accounting, financial reporting, and month-end closing in a manufacturing environment.

This role emphasizes accuracy of financial records, monitoring production costs, and providing insights to improve profitability and efficiency. Key focus areas include standard costing, variances analysis, BOM/routing review, and maintaining internal controls compliant with US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting & Financial Reporting: manage ledgers, journal entries, accruals; prepare financial statements; lead month-end and year-end closes; ensure balance sheet accuracy; assist audits and tax requests.
• Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Operations: maintain standard costs, analyze variances, review BOMs and routings; collaborate with production and purchasing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Inventory Accounting & Control: reconcile inventory subledgers with GL; monitor raw materials, WIP, finished goods; support counts and investigate adjustments.
• Financial Analysis & Budgeting: prepare analyses, support budgeting/forecasting, analyze overhead and margins; develop KPIs for management decisions.
• Internal Controls & Process Improvement: strengthen procedures, document processes, support ERP enhancements, ensure proper approvals.
