BI Incorporated in Boulder, CO is seeking a professional accountant to manage general ledger, month-end close, and cost analyses within a manufacturing environment. You will prepare journal entries, support budgeting, and assist audits, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

You will analyze cost transactions, review inventory controls, and maintain standard costs, leveraging Excel and integrated systems to support management decisions. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Three to five years of general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.
• Solid understanding of standard cost structures.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of integrated accounting systems.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

• Performs month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, preparation and distribution of financial information, account analysis and reconciliation.
• Assists management with the annual budget process and with analyzing monthly budget variances.
• Assists with the fiscal year-end audit.
• Processes cost transactions, analyzes and adjusts direct sales cost of goods sold. Reports on activity to management.
• Analyzes individual sales deals and excess/slow moving, warranty and obsolescence reserves.
• Analyzes monthly manufacturing period cost entries. Records quarterly manufacturing variances, and prepares analysis report.
• Reviews, analyzes and ensures adequate controls of inventory balances. Audits the cycle count process for inventory.
• Posts direct labor hours by work order into Syteline.
• Establishes and reviews standard costs.
• Records entries related to sales type leases.
• Performs internal audits to ensure accuracy of customer billings, including, but not limited to, comparison of sales matrices, customer contracts, contract releases and customer invoices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
