Job summary

Amsted Automotive, Cold Form & Finishing (CFF) Division, seeks an experienced Cost Accountant for the Taylor, Michigan facility to analyze costs, manage inventory, and report variances to improve profitability. You will support month-end closing, BOM updates, and data-driven insights for material, labor, and overhead.

Candidates should have a finance/accounting degree, SAP/Excel proficiency, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (prefer SAP) and advanced MS Excel.
• CPA is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cost analysis and variance reporting for manufacturing costs and overhead.
• Oversee inventory valuation, material flow, and reconciliations.
• Prepare month-end close entries and CO​GS reporting.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to update BOMs and routings.
• Support GAAP compliance and conduct cycle counts and audits.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve costing systems.
• Assist with physical inventories and data reconciliation.
• Support annual financial planning and special projects as needed.
• Serve as backup for general accounting tasks.
