Job summary

Dill Air Controls Products seeks a Cost Accountant to oversee inventory control, cost accounting, and related financial reporting. Responsibilities include product costing, cycle counts, and close activities to ensure accurate cost data and compliance with accounting standards.

The role collaborates with Purchasing and Finance to monitor price changes, analyze cost impacts, and support internal controls and audits.

Qualifications

• Two years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook; familiarity with Access/SQL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inventory controls – develop and manage procedures for accurate inventory records and valuation.
• Product costing – establish and maintain costs for manufactured and purchased goods including materials, labor, overhead.
• Customer accounts support – monitor accounts receivable until paid and communicate status as needed.
• Cost impact analysis – evaluate financial impact of design/material/supplier changes on costs and margins.
• Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts; investigate discrepancies and support corrective actions.
• Monitor supplier price changes and their impact on costs in collaboration with Purchasing.
• Participate in month-end/year-end close with cost/inventory reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare ad hoc financial and management reports from data and trends.
• Support audits with schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Identify and implement improvements to costing, inventory, and reporting systems.
• Maintain internal controls and data integrity; add controls where necessary.
