Job summary

Ferrotec USA Corporation is seeking a cost accountant to support standard cost manufacturing and inventory control in a fast-paced environment in Bedford, NH. You will analyze material, labor, and overhead costs, maintain standard costs monthly, and prepare journal entries while partnering with procurement and production teams to drive cost improvement and accuracy.

Strong data analysis, attention to detail, and proficiency with Oracle and Excel are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• 2–3 years cost accounting in a standard cost manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Oracle is helpful.
• Proficient in Windows-based software, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining accuracy of inventory and production data.
• Update standard costs monthly and analyze last receipts.
• Monitor inventory movement and provide management with variance analysis.
• Prepare month-end cost accounting journal entries.

How You Make An Impact

Responsible for the application and integrity of cost accounting practices in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This includes, but is not limited to planning, collecting, and analyzing data to determine and report all cost factors affecting production such as raw material purchases, inventory management costs, production labor, outside services, and machine shop activity. Track and report on all raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and consignment inventory. Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility. Enable and Drive Change in the Organization.

What Success Looks Like

• Assist in the accuracy and integrity of all inventory and production data.
• Assist in the maintenance of standard material costs. This includes the updating of standards on a monthly basis (as needed and based on communication/partnering with Procurement). The individual must have the ability to analytically review the last receipt, to assist in conversations with Procurement.
• Assist in reviewing, identifying and monitoring inventory movement and provide analysis as necessary for management’s review.
• Assist in the annual review of labor and overhead rates to ensure proper pricing of the company’s products.
• Assist in the over/under absorption to determine whether adjustments (reserves) must be made to properly cost the inventory balances.
• Assist in the review and execution of JSOX internal controls.
• Assist in Monthly review of work-in-process inventory and review of production jobs for completeness and timeliness of closure and the analysis of manufacturing variances on closed jobs (etc. material usage, labor).
• Assist in performing periodic cycle counts (approvals) and participate in evaluating the adequacy of the cycle count program.
• Assist in preparing the month-end cost accounting journal entries and monthly reconciliation of perpetual inventory to the general ledger.
• Assist in Inventory reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing the monthly gross margin report and investigate all low/negative margins.
• Assist in the preparation of all inventory-related reports.
• Assist Senior Accountants in journal entries, reconciliations and other various tasks assigned by manager of accounting.

What You Need To Be Successful

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2-3 years cost accounting experience in a standard cost-manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Oracle is helpful.

Proficient in Windows-based PC software packages e.g. Excel and Word.
