Job summary

Northwood Space seeks a pioneering Cost Accountant to build and own the cost accounting function as we scale our space infrastructure products. You will establish processes for inventory, COGS, and product costs while handling day-to-day cost accounting activities to support rapid growth.

Collaborating with Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Program teams, you will implement scalable methodologies, drive costing accuracy, and embed strong financial controls across ERP systems

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 4+ years in cost/inventory or manufacturing accounting.
Strong understanding of standard costing, COGS, WIP, and ERP-integrated inventory flows.
Ability to own close processes and perform variances with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Build and own cost accounting for inventory, standard costs, WIP, COGS, and variances as production scales.
Manage month-end and quarter-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
Develop standard costing across hardware components and analyze cost variances for accuracy.
Own inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods with ERP alignment.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering to translate BOMs into product costs.
Serve as Finance owner for cost accounting systems and drive ERP improvements and controls.
