Job summary

Talent Search Pro in California seeks a Cost Analyst to maintain and analyze standard costs, BOMs, labor rates, and overhead. You will support budgeting, product costing, pricing decisions, and develop reports to track costs and margins.

Work closely with Operations and Engineering to improve costing accuracy and manufacturing efficiency, assist with month-end close, and support inventory controls and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze standard costs, job costs, bills of materials (BOMs), labor rates, and manufacturing overhead.
• Investigate material, labor, freight, and overhead cost variances and recommend improvements.
• Reconcile inventory, work-in-process (WIP), and manufacturing-related general ledger accounts.
• Monitor inventory valuation, scrap, obsolete inventory, and cycle-count adjustments.
• Support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Analyze gross margins, job profitability, purchase price variances, and manufacturing performance.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve costing accuracy and manufacturing efficiency.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, product costing, and pricing decisions.
• Develop reports and dashboards to track costs, margins, and key performance indicators.
• Support inventory audits, internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
