Job summary

Jobot is seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our engineering team in Rhode Island. You will analyze manufacturing costs, prepare budget forecasts, and manage inventory counts while supporting month-end close and cost reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 5+ years in cost accounting in manufacturing, and proficiency with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle. CPA is preferred. Competitive benefits and a strong culture are offered.

• Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical counts of inventory and reconcile records.
• Estimate new and proposed product costs.
• Assist in month-end close of the General Ledger.
• Audit costs and prepare reports.
• Implement cycle counting program for inventory accuracy.
• Provide management with cost and profitability reports.
• Maintain Cost Accounting System.
• Coordinate with IT for system issues and maintenance.

Job Details
Responsibilities:As a Cost Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Analyzing manufacturing costs and preparing regular cost reports.
2. Creating and reviewing the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
3. Conducting physical counts of inventory and reconciling floor counts and inventory records.
4. Making estimates of new and proposed product costs.
5. Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger.
6. Conducting audits of costs and preparing reports.
7. Implementing a comprehensive cycle counting program to ensure inventory accuracy.
8. Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
9. Maintaining Cost Accounting System.
10. Coordinating with IT department for system issues, maintenance and development.

Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you should have:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment.
3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices and procedures.
5. Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
6. Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
7. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
9. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
