Job summary

You’ll own accounting activities from billing through financial reporting, collaborating with finance and operations, and gaining broad exposure to project accounting, cost analysis, and ERP-driven processes within a growing company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a construction, project-based, or similar environment.
• Experience with AIA billing and/or G702/G703 billing documentation.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, billing, and cost-related accounting activities.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting and financial activities associated with multiple ongoing projects.
• Prepare and process project-related billings, including AIA-style billing and supporting documentation.
• Assist with cost tracking, project reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Review project documentation and contracts to ensure accurate accounting and billing.
• Partner with project managers and other cross-functional stakeholders to resolve billing and accounting questions.
• Monitor project costs and assist with identifying discrepancies or variances.
• Maintain accurate project and accounting records within the organization’s ERP system.
• Assist with month-end accounting activities and related reconciliations.
• Utilize Excel to organize, analyze, and report financial and project-related information.
• Support process improvements and other accounting initiatives as the organization continues to grow.

This role is a great fit for an accountant who enjoys working closely with operations, understanding the financial side of projects, and taking ownership of accounting activities from billing through financial reporting.

Ideal background:

• Experience with AIA billing and/or G702/G703 billing documentation
• Strong understanding of project accounting, billing, and cost-related accounting activities
• Comfortable reviewing contracts and working with project-related documentation
• Experience partnering with project managers, operations, or other non-accounting stakeholders
• Experience working within an ERP/accounting system
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Someone who is proactive, collaborative, and willing to jump in wherever needed
