Job summary

CFS in Everett, WA is seeking a Cost Accountant to own costing, inventory analysis, and manufacturing accounting in a high-visibility role. You will partner with finance, operations, engineering, and production teams to influence profitability and drive operational performance.

The role covers month-end close for inventory and COGS, standard costs, BOM reviews, and ERP-based costing improvements, with strong emphasis on controls and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing with cost accounting.
• Experience with inventory management, plant operations, and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of SQL.
• CMA, CPA, or Epicor/Kinetic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close for inventory and COGS.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory balances, and operations metrics.
• Maintain standard costs, cost rolls, and product costing in ERP.
• Review BOMs and assess impact of material, process, and design changes on costs.
• Support inventory valuation and financial reporting.
• Partner with operations and finance teams to strengthen costing processes and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities For The Cost Accountant

• Lead month-end close activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS)
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory balances, and operational performance metrics
• Maintain standard costs, cost rolls, and product costing within the ERP system
• Review BOMs and assess the impact of material, process, and design changes on costs
• Support inventory valuation, excess and obsolete inventory reviews, and financial reporting
• Partner with operations and finance teams to strengthen costing processes and internal controls
