Vivant Talent seeks a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to oversee manufacturing and production cost analysis, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. You will analyze standard vs.

actual costs, investigate variances, maintain BOMs, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations and Finance. The role requires 3+ years in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting, strong GAAP knowledge, and ERP familiarity (NetSuite preferred).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Cost Accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing, inventory, cost accounting, and U.S. GAAP.
  • ERP experience required; NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and large data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cost accounting processes, standard costs, BOMs, routings, and work orders.
  • Analyze standard vs. actual costs and investigate production and inventory variances.
  • Perform inventory reconciliations, valuations, reserves, and cycle count analysis.
  • Support month-end/year-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze plant financials, gross margins, profitability, and production costs.
  • Prepare cost-benefit, CVP, make-or-buy, and profitability analyses.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve costing, inventory, and margin issues.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support NetSuite configuration, reporting, testing, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
  • Identify and resolve ERP, data, and transaction issues impacting inventory, COGS, WIP, and gross margin.
  • Develop ERP procedures and controls and support system cleanup and reconciliation.
  • Prepare management and audit reports and recommend cost and process improvements.

Cost Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to oversee manufacturing and production cost analysis, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. This role will analyze standard versus actual costs, investigate variances, maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), and partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000. Actual compensation will be determined by the hiring authority and may vary depending on qualifications and other factors relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
