Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing and inventory accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems (IQMS, Epicor, LN, Syteline) preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Position Summary

We are seekinga detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to support financialoperations at our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible foranalyzing manufacturing costs, maintaining accurate inventory and standardcosting, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with operationsto improve plant performance and profitability. This role is also responsible for planning and controlling toolingprojects with a strong focus on cost tracking, financial transparency, and budget adherence.

• Initiateand support growth and profitability projects related to existing and newbusiness and validate results for all productivity projects
• Manage and tracktooling projects cost and provide financial transparency related totooling
• Prepare monthly marginanalysis and variance reports (product, customer, product group) andprovide insight to business partners regarding product line and customerprofitability
• Provide timely,relevant variance analysis to sales & operations to drive committedresults
• Prepare and analyze manufacturing variance reports
• Analyze production data, labor utilization, scrap, andefficiency metrics
• Assist with product pricing process andcalculate price updates on monthly and quarterly escalator/de-escalatorcontracts
• Update Bills ofMaterial
• Support month-end close activities including journalentries and account reconciliations
• Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials,labor, and overhead
• Support physical inventory counts and audits
• Monitor inventory transactions and ensure inventoryaccuracy, and perform monthly inventory reconciliations and cycle countanalysis
• Partner with operations leadership to identifycost-saving opportunities and process improvements
• Capital asset trackingand summarization
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Ensure compliance with internal controls andaccounting policies
• Prepare ad hoc financial and operational analysis asneeded
• Ensuring the promotionof customer focus throughout the organization and in particular, yourarea of responsibility.
• Ensuring that theintegrity of the quality management system is maintained when changes tothe quality management system are planned and implemented.
• Ensuring that the processes are delivering theirintended outputs

This is an onsite position 5 days a week at our Clinton Township, MI facility

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000
