Job summary

The Addison Group is seeking a hands-on Cost Accountant to join a highly visible team that partners directly with sales and operations and influences weekly pricing decisions. You will build and maintain product costs across lines, analyze material, labor, and overhead costs, and help set selling prices based on cost structures.

In this role you’ll work closely with production teams at two plants to validate cost assumptions, support management with reporting and recommendations, and drive cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of cost accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing.
• Expert-level Excel skills with complex formulas, pivot tables, and modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving instincts.
• Comfort working in a plant environment alongside operations teams.
• Proven track record of building and improving processes.
• Clear, confident communication with finance and non-finance colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain standard and actual product costs across multiple product lines
• Analyze raw material, labor, and overhead costs so our product costing is accurate
• Recommend selling prices based on cost structures and margin targets
• Dig into cost variances and identify the drivers affecting profitability
• Serve as the go‑to costing, pricing, and margin partner for our sales team
• Join our weekly pricing strategy review
• Work side by side with production teams at our two plants to understand manufacturing processes and validate cost assumptions
• Support plant management with analysis, reporting, and recommendations
• Lead the design and rollout of new costing processes, and find ways to improve accuracy and operational performance
