Job summary

The Addison Group is seeking a Cost Accountant for an on-site role in Camden, NJ. You will develop and maintain product costing across multiple lines, collaborating with plant operations and finance to ensure accurate costs and margins.

You will analyze materials, labor, and overhead, support pricing strategies, and drive cost-control initiatives across two plants. A strong Excel background and 4+ years of cost accounting in food manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of cost accounting experience in food manufacturing or processing
• Excel skills with complex formulas, pivot tables, and modeling
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Comfort working on a plant floor and building relationships with operations
• Willingness to travel ~15% (Massachusetts and occasionally Canada)

Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

Addison Group is partnering with an established food manufacturer to hire a Cost Accountant in Collingswood, NJ. This is a high-visibility role supporting the consolidation of the company’s North American operations. You will work closely with plant operations, finance, sales, and senior leadership, gaining hands‑on exposure across multiple functions in a growing, process‑driven organization.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain standard and actual product costs across multiple product lines
• Analyze raw materials, labor, and overhead to ensure accurate product costing
• Support selling price recommendations based on cost structures and margin targets
• Perform cost variance analysis and identify key drivers of profitability
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the sales team on costing, pricing, and margin questions
• Participate in weekly pricing strategy reviews
• Partner with production teams at two plants to understand manufacturing processes and validate cost assumptions
• Lead the development of new costing processes and recommend improvements to cost accuracy and operational performance

What You Bring

• 4+ years of cost accounting experience in food manufacturing or food processing
• Expert‑level Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Comfort working on a plant floor and building relationships with operations teams
• Ability to manage priorities independently and collaborate remotely with leadership
• Willingness to travel approximately 15% (Massachusetts and occasionally Canada)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Nice to Have

• ERP experience (Aspen experience is a strong plus)
• Power BI or other data visualization experience
