Job summary

Ringside Talent is seeking a Cost Accountant for an onsite role on the south side of Columbus, OH. The position focuses on product costing, inventory valuation, and close processes to drive margin visibility and profitability.

You will maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and cost movement insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production setting preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
• Careful, analytical approach with good communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite on the south side of Columbus, OH.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze actual-to-standard variances and report findings to management.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and support month-end cost of goods sold entries.
• Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and the resolution of discrepancies.
• Prepare cost reports and analysis for operations and finance teams.
• Review bills of material, routings, and overhead rates for accuracy.
• Partner with Purchasing, Production, and Supply Chain to understand cost movements.
• Contribute to the monthly close and support audit requests.
• Look for ways to improve costing accuracy and streamline reporting.
