Job summary

Ringside Talent is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager for a hybrid role based in Akron, OH. You will lead costing and inventory accounting, owning the standard cost process and supporting the month-end close related to COGS and inventory.

You will build costing models for pricing and new product decisions, and partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities while strengthening internal controls and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA a plus
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including meaningful cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Prior experience leading or mentoring accounting staff
• Clear communicator who works comfortably with plant and operations teams

Responsibilities

• Lead the standard cost process, including setting, reviewing, and updating standards
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances and explain the drivers to operations and finance leaders
• Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, reserves, and month-end reconciliations
• Support the monthly close as it relates to cost of goods sold and inventory
• Build costing models to support pricing, quoting, and new product decisions

• Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventory processes
