Job summary

Inceed, a staffing direct placement firm, is partnering with a Colorado-based manufacturing company to hire a Cost Accountant in Boulder. The role focuses on cost accounting, month-end close, inventory analysis, and financial reporting to maintain accurate cost records.

The candidate will analyze manufacturing costs, post standard costs, support audits, and ensure timely financial close in a hands-on environment. On-site role with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of accounting experience.
• At least one year of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze manufacturing cost transactions.
• Review direct sales cost of goods sold activity.
• Prepare journal entries and month-end close support.
• Analyze inventory reserves and manufacturing variances.
• Audit cycle counts and review inventory balances.
• Post direct labor hours and standard costs.

Compensation:

$90,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience

This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll support cost accounting, month-end close, inventory analysis, and financial reporting while helping maintain accurate and timely cost records.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Process and analyze manufacturing cost transactions.
• Review direct sales cost of goods sold activity.
• Prepare journal entries and month-end close support.
• Analyze inventory reserves and manufacturing variances.
• Audit cycle counts and review inventory balances.
• Post direct labor hours and standard costs.
• Complete account reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Support annual audit and internal audit activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of accounting experience.
• At least one year of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with integrated accounting systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

• Experience with standard cost structures.
• Background in inventory controls and variance analysis.
• Familiarity with financial reporting processes.
• Experience supporting year-end audits.
