Reporting to the Cosmetology Program Chair and instructor, the role involves assisting in instruction, tutoring students in the lab, preparing materials, and maintaining laboratory equipment and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Preferred: Cosmetology license from GA and 2 years salon experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty with classroom instruction, exams, records, attendance and safety procedures.
• Tutor or mentor students, and assist in the lab.
• Perform laboratory research.
• Clean labs as needed.
• Obtain materials for classes, including texts and supplies.

Job Description: Lanier Technical College - is conducting a search for the following part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA none-exempt position.

POSITION: PART-TIME COSMETOLOGY LAB ASSISTANT- Hall and Dawson campus locations

REPORTS TO: Cosmetology Program Chair; Cosmetology Instructor

SALARY: $18.00 per hour; up to 29 hours per week

Works under the direct supervision of the faculty member and performs routine standardized laboratory work requiring close attention to detailed procedures in the preparation and basic maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment, inventory and requisition of supplies, assisting faculty in supervision of students assigned to laboratories, and other related duties and is employed on an individual academic term basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction
• Tutor or mentor students, and assisting students in the lab
• Perform laboratory research
• Clean labs as needed
• Obtain materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials
