Required independent teaching demonstrated by licensure in NC Cosmetology and Instructor credentials, with professional appearance and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or demonstrate competencies in teaching cosmetology courses or equivalent teaching experience.
• Current NC Cosmetology Instructor license.
• Current NC Cosmetologist license.
• Ability to demonstrate cosmetology practical skills and teach all required topics.
• Instruction aligned with NC Board of Cosmetic Arts requirements.
• Professional dress and punctuality for classes.
• Ability to build relationships, plan, organize and assess programs and services.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate and effective instruction.
• Teach classes per load with day, evening, weekend, off-campus and online options.
• Offer learning opportunities to promote engagement and retention.
• Stay current in cosmetology field and teaching methods.
• Create and assess student work per departmental standards.
• Keep accurate student records and attendance.
