Description
Work closely with the Director and Full‑Time Cosmetology Teacher to guarantee that students are receiving the maximum education toward theory & practical skills. Supervise students in the classroom and clinic floor.
Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)
- Plan & implement in a timely manner classroom lesson plans, lectures, handouts, exams, and demonstrations as assigned by the Director.
- Keep accurate student grades in regard to testing, handouts, projects, etc. Turn these grades into Full‑Time Cosmetology Teacher to be entered into main Excel grade book.
- During assigned classroom period physically stay in the room with the students; do not leave students unsupervised.
- During assigned clinic coverage stay on the clinic with the students; do not leave students unsupervised. (Cosmetology, Esthetics, or Nail Technology)
- Maintain a safe & professional atmosphere with regard to student conversation.
- Maintain a professional & ethical student/teacher relationship.
- Accumulate 24 CE hours toward Cosmetology Teacher license with the renewal date on September 30 of every other even year if applicable.
- Accumulate 20 CE hours toward Esthetics Teacher license with the renewal date on September 30 of every other even year if applicable.
- Accumulate 20 CE hours toward Nail Technology Teacher license with the renewal date on September 30 of every other even year if applicable.
- Once CE hours are completed, renew professional licensure per requirements set forth by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
- Provide the Cosmetology Director with a copy of updated professional licensure before September 30 of every other even year.
- Attend Cosmetology Teacher meetings.
- Complete timesheet per pay date schedule & send to Director by scheduled date & time.

Education Requirements
- Minimum Illinois Cosmetology Teacher license.
Experience Requirements
Preference will be given to candidates with work experience as a stylist and/or salon owner.
Knowledge
The rules & regulations of the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation and IACS (Illinois Association of Cosmetology Schools).
Skills
Cosmetology industry skills, Microsoft Office skills specific to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook email.
