Job summary

Henkel seeks a Toxicology Specialist within its Consumer Brands unit in the United States. The role focuses on safety reviews for cosmetics, regulatory liaison, and applying next-generation risk assessment methods to ensure product safety and innovation.

You will collaborate with Product Development, Regulatory Affairs and external partners, lead scientific discussions, and contribute to risk assessment practices while supporting launch-ready cosmetics across brands.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master in Toxicology or closely related field.
• Regulatory knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex toxicology concepts for varied audiences.
• Strong collaboration across functions and geographies.
• Critical thinking with sound scientific methodologies.
• Eager to learn and lead in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety and toxicological reviews of consumer products with a focus on cosmetics.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Regulatory Affairs and Consumer Technical Insights from ingredient selection to launch and post-market stewardship.
• Serve as a liaison for regulatory affairs with external organizations and consultants.
• Apply Next Generation Risk Assessment principles to advance risk assessment practices.
• Represent Henkel in toxicology societies and industry groups; integrate new principles and tools.
• Ensure formulations are evaluated using science-based approaches supporting safety and innovation.
