Job summary

Church & Dwight seeks an R&D Chemist with formulation experience to support development, qualification, and launch of cosmetic and consumer health products, as well as improving existing lines.

The Chemist will lead product research from concept through launch and post-launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role requires practical understanding of product development processes, including design, formulation, verification/validation, and commercialization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related with 5+ years of industry experience, or PhD with 0–3 years.
• Formulation expertise in personal care cosmetics or consumer health products.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development from concept to launch and post-launch with minimal supervision.
• Provide technical support for launches, maintenance, and manufacturing operations to ensure product quality.
• Conduct hands-on formulation work: design experiments, collect data, analyze results, and make data-driven recommendations.
• Support product claim substantiation through testing with internal teams and external labs.
• Monitor market trends and consumer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvement.
• Create and maintain product documentation including specifications and design history files.
• Follow U.S./FDA and EU regulatory requirements for cosmetics and related products.
