Job summary

THG in Edison, NJ is seeking a Chemist II to join Bentley Laboratories' cosmetic development team. You will formulate OTC and non-OTC personal care products, manage multiple projects, and prepare lab batches from concept to completion under R&D leadership.

A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science and 2+ years in cosmetic formulation are required; strong knowledge of stability testing, GLP/GMP, and cross-functional collaboration with Regulatory and Manufacturing is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in cosmetic formulation development and R&D.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience developing and modifying personal care, skincare, and haircare formulations.
• Knowledge of formulation troubleshooting, stability testing and lab practices.
• Understanding of FDA/CTFA/PCPC/cGMP regulations.
• Experience supporting scale-up and cross-functional teams (Regulatory/Manufacturing).
• Strong project management, problem solving and communication skills.
• Commitment to safe working practices and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Formulate OTC and non-OTC personal care products using ingredients to meet requirements.
• Review development requests and collaborate with Sales to ensure project success.
• Prepare lab batches, conduct stability testing, and incorporate feedback.
• Lead multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery.
• Provide technical support to customers and teams, including documentation.
• Maintain GLP-compliant records and assist with SOP updates.
