Job summary

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Cosmetic Formulation Technician in Baton Rouge to support the development of personal care products for private‑label clients. The role emphasizes hands‑on lab work, data interpretation, and documenting results.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience) and will thrive in a collaborative, detail‑oriented team environment with independent work capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, a related scientific field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in cosmetic, food, chemical, or personal care formulation preferred.
• Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate experimental results.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, formulas, and established procedures.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing as a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform formulation, testing, reverse formulation, and product development for custom development clients.
• Collaborate with VP of Product Development to develop private‑label products from concept to scaled formulas.
• Accurately measure and handle chemical and cosmetic ingredients.
• Prepare daily laboratory batches according to priorities and specs.
• Prepare documentation for formula submissions, batch specifications, and development activities.
• Conduct and monitor stability testing on R&D batches.
• Maintain detailed records in formulation and project databases.
• Submit requests for new raw material samples and assist with testing and release of materials.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and fine‑tune formulation issues for target performance.
• Convert laboratory formulas to larger batch manufacturing.
