Job summary

DriveTime Family of Brands seeks a skilled automotive reconditioning technician to overhaul and renovate vehicles, inspect cosmetic repairs to DriveTime standards, and complete glass repairs as needed. You will utilize standard equipment, maintain safety, and work closely with leadership to meet throughput and quality targets.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, automotive tech knowledge, and the ability to operate basic computer systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Certificate or Associates degree in automotive technology or work experience equivalent (2 years or more) in automotive repair.
• Proficient in automotive repairs and ability to troubleshoot automotive concerns.
• Able to communicate causes and recommended corrections for vehicle issues.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul, rebuild, and renovate vehicles to restore exterior condition to standards.

Responsibilities of the Job (Or Better Known as, Your Next Destination)

• Responsible for a variety of tasks that will overhaul, rebuild, and renovate the vehicle to bring the condition of the exterior back to a presentable condition.
• Inspect and identify various needed cosmetic repairs using DriveTime standards and tools.
• Complete glass repairs as necessary and review all completed work with lead/supervisor.
• Use, store, and maintain equipment properly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a daily performance logs and review with the Reconditioning Center General Manager Achieve the established goal for throughput, efficiency and quality Establish consistency among cosmetic associates and technicians by adhering, enforcing and promoting DT Standards Review and communicate all issues with the appropriate Cosmetic Associate, Reconditioning Manager and ICGM Perform daily area inspections to ensure Cosmetic Associates are keeping clean and safe workstations Portray a positive image of DriveTime and actively participate in the creation of a positive, professional work environment Maintain workstation performance while adhering to DriveTime guidelines, policies and practices and acting ethically and with integrity at all times and with all employees.

• Must be proficient in automotive repairs.
• Must be able to trouble shoot basic automotive concerns.
• Must be able to communicate the causes and recommended corrections for vehicle issue.
• Must be able to meet metric performance targets.
• Must be able to learn and operate basic computer systems.
• Must be organized and punctual.
• Must maintain a safe and compliant work space.
• Must be able to learn and comply with all DriveTime standards.

Requirements (a.k.a. What You Need to Get the Job Done)

• High School Diploma or GED required; Certificate or Associates degree in automotive technology or work experience equivalent (2 years or more) in automotive repair.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements

The Physical demands described within are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels. Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet. Requires standing for extended period of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance. Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity. Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment. Requires some driving and frequent typing. Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance. Must be able to communicate in English to ensure effective performance of the position in a safety-sensitive/technical environment.
