Job summary

DriveTime Family of Brands is seeking an automotive maintenance technician. You will perform basic repairs, maintenance, and emissions testing on our inventory vehicles while ensuring proper documentation in DriveTime systems.

You will contribute to a safe, organized workshop and support leadership with clear communication. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with auto repair experience or related certification, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; certificate or associate degree in automotive technology or 2+ years of auto repair experience.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 60 pounds and work in a safety-conscious environment.
  • Ability to learn and operate basic computer systems.
  • Must be organized and punctual.
  • Must maintain a safe and compliant workspace.
  • Strong communication skills to present findings to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic vehicle repairs and maintenance on inventory.

Responsibilities of the Job (Or Better Known as, Your Next Destination)
  • Responsible for basic vehicle repairs and maintenance, performing emissions testing (state inspections where applicable), vehicle movement, inventory management, repair documentation and computer utilization.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on inventory vehicles.
  • Explain automotive repairs and issues to management to minimize re-work and delays in production.
  • Proper documentation of all work performed in DT systems.
  • Keep area clean and organized to maintain highest level of safety and compliance.

  • Must be proficient in basic automotive repair.
  • Must be able to meet metric performance targets.
  • Must be able to learn and operate basic computer systems.
  • Must be organized and punctual.
  • Must maintain a safe and compliant work space.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Certificate or Associates degree in automotive technology or work experience equivalent (2 years or more) in automotive repair.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
  • Requires standing for extended period of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
  • Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
  • Requires some driving and frequent typing.
  • Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
  • Must be able to communicate in English to ensure effective performance of the position in a safety-sensitive/technical environment.
