DriveTime Family of Brands in Stockbridge, GA is seeking an automotive reconditioning technician to overhaul, rebuild, and renovate vehicles to a presentable condition while upholding DriveTime standards.

You will inspect cosmetic repairs, perform glass work, maintain tools, and log daily production metrics, coordinating with the Reconditioning Center General Manager to meet throughput, quality, and safety targets. This is a full-time role with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED with automotive tech training or equivalent work experience.
• Experience repairing vehicles and performing cosmetic repairs to required standards.
• Ability to learn DriveTime processes and operate basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul, rebuild, and renovate vehicles to restore exterior condition.
• Inspect and identify cosmetic repair needs per DriveTime standards.
• Complete glass repairs and review work with supervisor; maintain tools and work area.
• Maintain daily production logs and strive for throughput, efficiency and quality.
• Communicate issues and recommended corrections clearly to team leads.

Responsibilities of the Job (Or Better Known as, Your Next Destination)

• Responsible for a variety of tasks that will overhaul, rebuild, and renovate the vehicle to bring the condition of the exterior back to a presentable condition.
• Inspect and identify various needed cosmetic repairs using DriveTime standards and tools.
• Complete glass repairs as necessary and review all completed work with lead/supervisor.
• Use, store, and maintain equipment properly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a daily performance logs and review with the Reconditioning Center General Manager.
• Achieve the established goal for throughput, efficiency and quality.
• Establish consistency among cosmetic associates and technicians by adhering, enforcing and promoting DT Standards.
• Review and communicate all issues with the appropriate Cosmetic Associate, Reconditioning Manager and ICGM.
• Perform daily area inspections to ensure Cosmetic Associates are keeping clean and safe workstations.
• Portray a positive image of DriveTime and actively participate in the creation of a positive, professional work environment.
• Maintain workstation performance while adhering to DriveTime guidelines, policies and practices and acting ethically and with integrity at all times and with all employees.

• Must be proficient in automotive repairs.
• Must be able to trouble shoot basic automotive concerns.
• Must be able to communicate the causes and recommended corrections for vehicle issue.
• Must be able to meet metric performance targets.
• Must be able to learn and operate basic computer systems.
• Must be organized and punctual.
• Must maintain a safe and compliant work space.
• Must be able to learn and comply with all DriveTime standards.

Requirements (a.k.a. What You Need to Get the Job Done)

• High School Diploma or GED required; Certificate or Associates degree in automotive technology or work experience equivalent (2 years or more) in automotive repair. Valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Requires some driving and frequent typing.
• Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
• Must be able to communicate in English to ensure effective performance of the position in a safety-sensitive/technical environment.
