Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines in Elko, NV is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer I for the Cortez operation. You will support development of Maintenance Procedures, Standards, and Specifications to foster a reliability culture across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent reliability experience.
• 2+ years in operations, preferably mobile maintenance in mining.
• Strong knowledge of RCA, FMEA, RCM, LEAN preferred.
• Experience with CMMS and condition monitoring techniques such as oil and vibration analysis, thermography, or ultrasonics.

Responsibilities

• Identify mobile equipment defects and prioritize reliability improvements.
• Provide leadership and act as a salaried team member supporting core values.
• Demonstrate teamwork and clear stakeholder communication in surface mine maintenance.

The successful candidate will assist in developing Nevada Gold Mines' Maintenance Procedures, Standards and Specifications focused on sustaining a reliability-culture.

Responsibilities

• Identify mobile equipment defects and set priorities on opportunities for reliability improvement by mining information using reliability databases and inputs from various sources.
• Provide visible felt leadership during interaction with other team members and as a salaried staff representative in support of and demonstrating the NGM - DNA (Core Values)
• Demonstrate Teamwork, Interpersonal Skills, Communication with Stakeholders and other skills and behaviors important to how results are achieved in the surface mine maintenance environment at site.
• Implement various operational and maintenance alternatives to leverage cost-savings effectively managing forecasted and budgeted expenditures
• Statistically analyze equipment and performance to assess reliability, maintainability, and availability
• Fleet Planning and Maintenance Plan upkeep and development
• Provide training and facilitation on root cause failure analysis (RCA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) with maintenance and operations personnel
• Develop Nevada Gold Mines' Maintenance Procedures, Standards and Specifications focused on sustaining a reliability-culture
• Cultivate productive partnerships with key vendors/OEM's that drive improvement in equipment
• Maintain and validate downtime reporting databases and KPI’s
• Identify, scope and evaluate reliability improvement projects
• Proficiently utilize maintenance operating system (S4-HANA, SAP) to record and report out on maintenance activity in a continuous improvement strategy
• Drive continuous improvement in the maintenance division and help foster the culture to ensure its longevity
• Ensure the sustainability of the Condition Monitoring techniques that are to be implemented
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated safety leadership capability for both self and team required
• Excellent leadership, people, and communication skills required
• Bachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience in a reliability role preferred
• Two (2) years practical experience in Operations, preferably in a mobile maintenance mining environment preferred
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of reliability and improvement concepts: RCA, FMEA, RCM, LEAN preferred
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Condition Monitoring techniques such as: oil and vibration analysis, thermography and/or ultrasonic emissions preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project preferred
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) and/or Certified Plant Maintenance Manager preferred
