Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Akron, OH is hiring a Production Supervisor to lead an operating team with focus on safety, quality and efficiency. The role requires strong leadership, hands-on operations experience, and the ability to drive improvements in people, processes, and systems.

The successful candidate will promote a culture of safety and manufacturing excellence, coach personnel, and coordinate with other departments to ensure on-time production at our corrugator/converting facility.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising employees in manufacturing or military environments.
• Experience coaching and developing a team.
• Experience in corrugated packaging/converting operations.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead an operating team in safety, health, environmental, and quality.
• Drive safety excellence and proactively identify hazards and mitigation strategies; investigate incidents.
• Coach, train, and develop operations personnel in safety, quality, and production.
• Minimize waste at machine centers and ensure efficient operations.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure on-time production.
• Plan, assign and direct work for hourly production employees; provide feedback and resolve complaints.
