Job summary

Intertek in Houston, TX is seeking a Corrosion Manager to lead laboratory programs ensuring top-quality services are delivered safely, legally, and on time. You will oversee technical aspects, mentor staff, and coordinate project work across teams to meet deliverables and budgets.

The role requires advanced degrees in chemical sciences and hands-on corrosion testing experience, with strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Chemical/Petroleum Engineering or Chemistry; PhD plus 2+ years industry experience preferred.
• Understanding of industry experimental protocols and ability to QC data.
• Experience with corrosion testing, inhibitors screening, rate of corrosion, pitting, weight loss.
• Exposure to HPHT cell apparatus, flow loop, and rheological instruments preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word to record and report lab data.

Responsibilities

• Design laboratory programs, set deliverable timelines, and grow project management skills.
• Develop a thorough understanding of Intertek's technical capabilities.
• Discuss technical issues with Program/Project Managers, Lab Supervisors, and technicians.
• Provide technical oversight and coordination of project engineering work.
• Submit Laboratory Work Instructions to Lab Managers or Supervisors.
• Monitor progress against project schedules and budgets.
• Prepare technical reports and other project documentation.
• Mentor less experienced employees and support safety and quality policies.
