Job summary

ROCHESTER GAS & ELEC CORP in Rochester, NY seeks a Supervisor – Corrosion to lead CP activities within the natural gas distribution system. You will supervise crews, plan CP inspections, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating fieldwork and maintaining customer communication.

The role requires strong CP expertise, leadership, and the ability to manage day-to-day operations, budgets, and data systems. Travel to other divisions and after-hours availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Associate degree with 8+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience and progression program completed.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance.
• Knowledge of industry federal and state regulations.
• Valid Driver’s License and AMPP CP-1 Certification minimum; operator qualifications for natural gas required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff of Bargaining Unit employees.
• Prepares and communicates corrosion program status and performance reports; maintains records.
• Maintains cathodic protection data: readings, rectifier, and related databases.
• Identifies training opportunities within the group.
• Ensures tools and equipment are available to perform corrosion control functions.
• Develops and maintains annual inspection and monitoring schedules per regulations.
• Recommends remedial actions to restore cathodic protection systems.
• Manages electronic corrosion data inspection processes and databases.
• Supports Gas Field Operations and other departments; participates in investigations.
• Ensures compliance with company codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Interacts with customers, municipalities, agencies; manages contractors/consultants.
• Reviews SAP data and processes supporting contractor resources.
• May require after-hours on-call; travel to other divisions as needed.
