Job summary

Energy Transfer is seeking a corrosion technician to design, install, inspect, and maintain cathodic protection systems across gas and liquid facilities and pipelines. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and SOPs while supporting safety programs and audits.

The role requires corrosion knowledge, field maintenance, and the ability to train others. A valid driver’s license and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to train others.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite tools.
• Preferred: Associate degree in corrosion tech or related certs (NACE CP II).

Responsibilities

• Provide design, installation, operation, inspection and maintenance of cathodic protection systems.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA).
• Investigate corrosive conditions for existing or proposed facilities.
• Ensure cathodic protection compliance for pipelines, compressor stations or plants.
• Perform pipe-to-soil surveys, readings, and protection system tests as per SOPs/regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate coating condition and perform strength calculations per procedures.
• Read pipeline maps and PLDs; interpret as-builts.
• Train others in discipline tasks and participate in qualification programs.
• Support PHMSA or state regulatory audits and safety initiatives.
• Maintain safe, organized work areas and perform LOTO procedures.
