Job summary

Dragonfly Pond Works is seeking a Corrective Technician to join our outdoor, fast-growing environmental services team in Wilmington, NC. This full-time role offers year-round work, competitive hourly pay, and strong safety culture.

Responsibilities include operating heavy and specialized equipment, pond maintenance, and leading by example to ensure a safe, productive worksite. CDL is required along with physical capability to lift heavy loads.

Qualifications

• Must possess active Class A or B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and a clean driving record.
• Experience in pond/lake maintenance or stormwater work.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable working around water, slopes and environmental risks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to motivate team members.

Responsibilities

• Safely haul/transport equipment and resources on company trucks and trailers.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely (slope mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, mini-excavators, skid steers).
• Perform manual labor tasks and operate hand tools.
• Maintain and repair ponds, lakes, and stormwater control measures (grading, erosion repair, planting, mowing).
• Lead by example, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to guidelines.
• Complete repairs and maintenance on ponds and stormwater control measures.

Pay: $22- $26 an hour- Full-time

Requirements

• Experience in pond/lake maintenance, landscaping, erosion control, or stormwater maintenance
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work in various weather conditions
• Comfortable working around water, slopes, and environmental risks (bees, poison ivy, etc.)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate team members
• Commitment to safety practices with chemicals and equipment

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete repairs and maintenance on ponds, lakes, and other stormwater control measures, including: Turf establishment, mowing, planting, invasive plant treatment or removal, hand or machine excavation, grading, erosion repairs, tree removal, and site stabilization
