The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Waymart is seeking a motivated Corrections Unit Manager. - DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Unit Manager, you will ensure all needs are met within inmate housing units at SCI Waymart. You will plan and direct unit security and treatment programs as well as develop operational goals and procedures that address the specialized needs of units. You will also monitor housekeeping plans, unit security practices, and treatment services for compliance with DOC directives, policies, and standards. This role requires attention to detail and effective communication skills to supervise a multi-disciplinary team and proactively resolve conflicts between inmates. In addition, you will conduct staff meetings, perform inspections, submit budget requests, and exercise care, custody and control over inmates at all times.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,774.00 (before taxes).

- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of professional experience in a correctional institution/facility in correctional security, treatment, quasi-judicial hearings or counseling; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of professional experience in a correctional institution/facility in correctional security, treatment, quasi-judicial hearings or counseling.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
