Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of education and/or experience in a skilled trade (e.g., carpentry, electrician, plumbing).
• Certification of completion of the Basic Corrections Training Course and maintenance required.
• Possession of a valid Maine driver’s license and/or bus license; some roles require professional trade licenses.
• Attain a Class B license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Observe, monitor, and evaluate resident work activity.
• Instruct residents individually and in crews using varied methods.
• Record work activities and prepare reports of results.
• Supervise and instruct residents in building trades, construction, and agriculture.
• Manage resident training and safety, and coordinate with treatment teams.
