Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years experience in a criminal justice field with two years in a supervisory capacity.
• FDLE Corrections certification in good standing, or eligibility to become certified.
• Available to work any hours/shifts.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-service correctional officer training completed or licensed security officer where applicable.
• Knowledge of correctional facility management, laws, rules and supervision principles.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise security staff and inmates/residents on the shift.
• Provide for adequate staffing and fill in during short staffing periods.
• Engage in recruiting, hiring, orientating staff, and other staffing needs.
• Make recommendations concerning personnel matters and assist in the effective management of facility resources.
