Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Correctional Officer, PRN (As Need Basis) to help maintain order and safety in a secure facility in Lake City, Florida. The role involves supervising inmates, enforcing rules, and supporting daily operations across housing units, meals, recreation, and visits.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, FDLE certification where applicable, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work any shift and complete required training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must complete pre-service correctional officer training and, where applicable, be licensed by the state.
• Must be certified in Corrections through the FDLE and in good standing; or meet FDLE eligibility and certification process.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Demonstrate ability to complete any required training.
• Must be available to work any hours, any shift.
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• Work any shift, across posts including armory, housing, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.
• CoreCivic recognizes military service for positions requiring criminal justice experience.
