Job summary

Louisville Metro Government seeks a current LMDC Corrections Officer to supervise a shift, coordinate unit operations, and respond to emergencies within a correctional facility. The position requires two years of LMDC Corrections Officer experience, high school or GED equivalency, and eligibility for State Peace Officer certification.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
• Two (2) years of Louisville Metro Department of Corrections (LMDC) Corrections Officer experience.
• Must be eligible for certification as a State Peace Officer.
• Must meet OSHA PPE and safety requirements and pass annual training.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff and conducts performance appraisals.
• Coordinates and reviews work, assigns shifts, and maintains standards.
• Patrols assigned areas to supervise employee performance and security operations.
• Prepares reports and discusses shift operations with supervisor.
