Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking an Assistant Shift Supervisory to oversee security staff in a correctional setting. This role involves supervising officers, ensuring safety, and maintaining order across shifts.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years in criminal justice, 1 year in corrections, and 1 year of supervisory experience. A valid driver’s license is required, with a Drug-Free Workplace and EOE policy in place.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Three years of experience in a criminal justice field required.
• One year of corrections experience required.
• One year of supervisory experience preferred.
• No substitution for the required corrections experience.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise assigned security staff on the shift and evaluate performance.
• Demonstrate and provide guidance on safety and security practices and post orders.
• Interpret, enforce and comply with rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and contract requirements.
• Attend meetings to enhance communications between management, staff and inmates/residents.
• Assist in streamlining communications and maintaining consistency of operation between shifts.
