Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• DCJS Certification required.
• Experience in corrections or law enforcement preferred.
• Experience supervising corrections staff.
• Experience planning, scheduling, and organizing work including timekeeping and duty roster management.
• Experience reviewing records and reports and applying post orders.
• Knowledge of security and/or administration practices and procedures.
• Ability to receive, understand, and give oral and written instructions.
• Working knowledge of firearms, radio equipment, and physical/electronic control devices.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of Security Supervisors, Corrections Officers, and Inmates in an institutional setting.
• Supervise staff on assigned shift to ensure a safe, secure, and productive environment.
• Lead and counsel staff; coordinate work schedules and duty rosters.
• Contribute to performance management administration for staff.
• Conduct ongoing inspections to maintain security, sanitation, and good order of the institution.
• Interact with management, staff, visitors, inmates, and the public to maintain orderly operations.
