The position requires experience in correctional settings, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate training and performance management while safeguarding both staff and inmates.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily functioning of security unit operations.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Supervise staff: hiring, evaluating, training, promoting, and disciplinary actions up to termination.
• Provide ongoing on-the-job security and safety training to personnel.
• Develop policies relating to security operations and seek approval for changes.
• Plan and respond to emergencies; direct searches for escaped offenders.
• Assist in escape and riot control planning and staff training.
• Serve on training, budget and policy review boards; support long-range facility goals.
