Qualifications

• Graduate education must be in corrections or related field such as criminal justice, sociology, psychology, counseling, social work, or similar.
• Experience in casework in a correctional institution or other criminal justice setting may be counted.
• Experience in counseling requiring diagnostic or treatment planning to achieve social/occupational goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management services to the local inmate population.
• Collect, verify, and analyze information for social histories describing behavioral patterns.
• Determine inmate needs and set programs/goals; monitor progress via progress reports.
• Prepare correspondence and responses to inquiries from Attorneys, Judges, and Parole Offices.

Education

Two years of graduate education toward a master's degree

Three years of graduate education toward a Ph.D. or doctoral degree
