Job summary

Qualifications

• Courses such as sociology, correctional administration, criminal justice, psychology, social work or related social or behavioral science courses may meet the 24-semester-hour requirement.
• Education evaluation may credit graduate-level study toward required 24 semester hours.
• Specialized experience must be in casework or counseling in a correctional/justice setting or social rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in case management services.
• Assist in collection, verification, and analysis of information for social histories.
• Assist in writing correspondence and responses to Attorneys, Judges, Members of Congress, Parole Offices, and others.
• Assist in determining inmate needs and program goals and monitoring progress.
