Job summary

Bureau of Prisons is seeking corrections professionals to provide behavioral health services in federal facilities in California. The role supports inmate rehabilitation and safe community reentry.

Applicants must have advanced education in corrections or related fields and relevant experience in casework, counseling, or treatment planning. Selective factors include psychology or social work coursework or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Education: 24 semester hours in behavioral or social sciences.
• Experience: 1 year of specialized experience in correctional or related settings.
• Graduate education: in corrections or related field.
• Selective Factors: 12 graduate hours in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or social work with internship; or 12 months full-time treatment experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-session presentations or lectures for groups.
• Prepare reports analyzing data from multiple sources.
• Provide group and individual substance abuse treatment services in a correctional population.
• Develop discharge reports and follow-up treatment for inmates releasing to the community.

Education

24 semester hours behavioral/social sciences

Master's degree or equivalent in corrections/related field
