Job summary

Williamson County is seeking a dedicated peace officer to supervise inmates, ensure safety and security, and maintain order within the jail and courthouse complex. The role includes transporting inmates, serving warrants, and supporting court operations.

Qualified candidates will hold a TCOLE Basic Peace Officer License, complete TCIC/NCIC training, and obtain the Basic Jailer certification within a year. A Texas driver's license is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• TCOLE Basic Peace Officer License required.
• TCIC/NCIC training required.
• TCOLE Basic Jailer certification within 12 months of employment.
• Valid Texas driver’s license within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmates in court and jail facilities.
• Receive, book, and secure inmates on arrival.
• Transport inmates to jail, courts, and medical appointments.
• Maintain security during court proceedings and custody of inmates.
• Attend to emergencies and respond to routine requests or complaints.
• Maintain firearms qualifications and other licenses as required.
