Job summary

Walton County Sheriff's Office (GA) seeks a position responsible for supervising inmates at the county jail in Monroe, GA. The role includes conducting searches, monitoring inmate conditions, enforcing rules, and coordinating inmate transportation.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of related experience or an apprenticeship, plus a valid Georgia driver’s license and eligibility to meet POST requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; basic math and literacy required.
• 1–2 years of related security or custody experience or apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmates and maintain safety in the jail facility.
• Conduct searches of inmates and housing areas.
• Administer basic First Aid and respond to emergencies.
• Transport inmates to medical appointments, court, and other activities.
• Maintain records and logs; operate GCIC records system.
• Enforce jail rules and supervise inmate work details.
