Job summary

You will document counts, incidents, and reports, escort inmates to activities, and respond to emergencies with professionalism and composure. Must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, and pursue Wisconsin Corrections Certification within one year.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to meet requirements and become Wisconsin Corrections Certified within first year of employment.
• Hire requirements include successful completion of physical agility test; psychological test, post-offer physical evaluation and/or other tests to aid in determining fitness for employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmates to maintain safety and security.
• Monitor inmate areas and conduct inspections for cleanliness and security.
• Distribute meals, supplies, and escort inmates to visits and programs.
• Maintain accurate records of inmate counts and incidents; write clear reports.
• Use appropriate force when necessary and in accordance with training.
• Respond to emergencies per department policies.
• Manage inmate processing, including booking, releases, and GPS monitoring; verify IDs for visitors.
